Hello All! I hope you are enjoying fantastic summer weather, wherever you are! So, our topic of this blogpost is hair. I have shared one hair oil recipe in the past. But today, I want to talk about “Hair Rinses.”
I truly believe that hair rinses are the most under-rated beauty products in the wellness industry. I’m sure you have read or listened to various tips on eco-friendly beauty products.
Still, very few people talk about "Hair Rinses" as a way to tackle hair issues! Believe it or not, hair rinses are the best way to keep moisture in your scalp and hair during the summer months.
Hair rinses offer a lot of benefits. They remove all toxic chemicals from your hair styling products, balance the PH level, and make your hair fuller. In this blog post, I am sharing another recipe for sustainable personal care products using cilantro stems (i.e food scraps).
This eco-friendly cilantro stem hair rinse is made from 4 main ingredients: cilantro stems, California-grown Meyer Lemons, rose water, & aloe vera.
So, before we go further, let's go over some details on our spotlight ingredients:
Cilantro Stem Powder:
We generally throw away our cilantro stems, which are the remaining part. This leftover part always ends up as waste. So why not use it? The great thing about cilantro stems is that they are water-soluble.
This means that it dissolves in the water quite well. Due to this quality, it works wonders on your hair when mixed with sustainable beauty products or ingredients. Cilantro stems improve your hair growth and reduce hair loss.
Cilantro stems contain vital vitamins and antioxidants. They are suitable for the hair because they also contain vitamin C, folic acid, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin A, and vitamin K.
This wonder ingredient various nutrients to help hair follicles, cleans the scalp, and makes hair shiny.
Meyer Lemons:
Since Glow & Green Headquarters is situated in California, Meyer lemons are one of the best eco-friendly ingredients for us. But you can use any locally grown fruit.
Mayer Lemons are a natural antioxidant and they regulate the PH of your scalp. They are a great resource when fighting dandruff naturally. Lemons eliminate the after-effects from using chemical hair products and the damage caused by dirty air.
Rosewater:
Rosewater contains soothing and nourishing qualities. It also provides a great scent in any formulation. This ingredient replenishes lost moisture and makes hair more manageable, smoother, shinier, and healthier.
Plus, the natural anti-inflammatory properties of rosewater can help reduce dandruff, and its stimulating properties increase scalp circulation and promote hair growth. (Referenced)
Aloe Vera:
Aloe vera acts as a repairing booster to your hair follicles. It also moisturizes and promotes hair growth. It contains proteolytic enzymes, which help heal and repair the damaged cells in your scalp.
This improves the health of the hair follicles and indirectly boosts healthy and faster hair growth. (Referenced) So this is what you can expect when you make your DIY Natural Beauty Product.
